Dr.-Ing. Carolin Funk
Born and raised in Berlin, Germany, I studied Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration at the Technical University (TU) of Berlin. During my studies, I spent one year at the LUISS in Rome — thanks to the ERASMUS program. After completing my MBA and MS of Engineering, I acquired a doctorate degree (Dr.-Ing.), researching advanced biofuels and energy system modeling at the Institute of Engineering and Transport Systems at TU Berlin. The title of my dissertation was “Supplying the European Market with Synthetic Biofuels” (Dissertation in German). My professional career is driven by renewable energies and energy efficiency. I currently work as an independent consultant, with the goal of making the world a better place (at least concerning the energy system). If you want to find out more about my career, please have a look at my résumé.
Apart from energy related topics, I enjoy traveling and discovering foreign cultures, languages, and food. I love sailing — on small and large ships and on a lake or the ocean — and I play the saxophone in different bands.» Get in touch with me
